There's nothing like picking a Netflix movie, sipping a glass of wine, and getting a hot, cheesy pizza to your door. Maybe you prefer to eat pizza in a restaurant. Fresh pizza always satisfies. Pizza isn't healthy, but some pieces are worse than others.
BIG PIZZA, 14-INCH: 368 calories, 19 g fat (8 g saturated, 0 g trans), 940 mg sodium, 36 g carbohydrates (2 g fibre, 4 g sugar), 16 g protein.
"This pizza has five different types of meats, but it still packs in more fat than protein and has over 1,000 milligrammes of salt each slice, which is about half the American Heart Association's recommended daily maximum," adds Goodson.
As the name indicates, this pizza has a lot of cheese, and the six-cheese combination adds salt and fat, explains Goodson. Nonetheless, this slice is higher on the list of unhealthiest pizzas because—surprising—many slices have more saturated fat, total fat, and calories per slice than this one.
The Pizza Johns Pepperoni, Sausage & Six Cheese has similar nutrients. Unfortunately, the increased calories and grammes of total fat lowered its ranking.
The Pepperoni Lovers' slice is similar to Domino's Cali Chicken Bacon Ranch in nutrition, but it has trans fat, therefore we ranked it lower.
Any "meat lovers" or "meat supreme" pizza will be high in calories, fat, saturated fat, and salt. Pizza Hut Meat Lovers is no different.
This Sbarro slice's nutrition facts shows why it's one of the unhealthiest pizzas.
Goodson warns that this pizza has 1,750 mg of sodium per piece. "One slice has more salt than healthy persons should ingest in a day."
